Lego Pics Shot by Jared, himself!

Jared is so creative, always building new things with his Legos, here is what he created today!

I don't post much on Jared, but he's doing well. He's been really busy this summer with swim lessons, tennis camp, cooking camps and baseball. He's all done with his camps now and he's just about ready for school...thanks to Grammy for getting him lots of new clothes, a book bag and most of his school supplies! Today, we got his shoes, so we're just waiting to find out who his teacher will be. He's going to be a 2nd grader...I can't believe it, he's getting so big! :) He's way too smart for his own good...and I can't forget to mention what an awesome brother he is! :)

Anyways, those are the pics he wanted posted...he wanted his "Titi" to see them, we told him to take pics because the Lego creations wouldn't last until she comes back to Cleveland next month! HA! Have a good night everyone!

New Toys!

If you read Jaime's blog, you'll know that we had a very busy weekend! Even though there was lots going on, we still didn't miss the opportunity to have some fun with Jared! Here are a few of his birthday presents that we played with this weekend!

See that yellow thing flying?
It's up near the left of the picture.
Thank you, Nana!
It's a remote control helicopter!
Off it goes again!
Jared LOVES his new toys! He actually got a remote control air plane from his friend and his remote control helicopter from his grandparents. Tonight, Tom took Jared to the park to fly his plane (Jared & I bought Tom a remote control plane a few years ago) and have Jared fly his new plane and helicopter, too. From what I hear, each of them had some really good runs!
Tomorrow starts another active week for Jared. He has swim lessons all week, Tennis Camp (thanks for the new racquet, Titi), Vacation Bible School and IF we can fit it in, Baseball! Jared's really enjoying his summer so far, we are, too! Can't wait until Jaime's a little more stable and old enough to be out and about a little more. (He's still having feeding issues and isn't always the most pleasant to be taking places!)
Anyway, enjoy the photos and HAPPY SUMMER!!!!! :)

Jared's 7th Birthday

Here is a HUGE slide show of Jared's 7th birthday. We started our celebration on Sunday, the day before his birthday with lunch at Quaker Steak & Lube with the fam. Then we met up with Jared's friends and our neighbors for a "kid" party. The kids played velcro ball, on the swing set, in the sand box, chalked, bowling, and bubble fun. After the kids left, we got pizza for the fam.
On Monday, Jared's "real" birthday, he went to swim lessons in the morning and dinner with Grammy & Poppy. He even got to go to the park with Poppy for a golf lesson (Jared got a driver for his birthday.)
Thank you to everyone who sent cards, presents, texts, emails and overall birthday wishes for Jared. He said that he LOVES being 7 and that it was his best birthday ever! :)

It's Official....

Jared has been promoted to the 2nd grade! :)
We are so proud of Jared, he had another good report card, even improving in several areas! :) Today, Jared got to celebrate his birthday at school. The irony about Jared's birthday celebration is that I wasn't going to be able to make it due to Jaime's doctor appointment. Turns out, Jared's eye (from his eye injury last week) started to swell and get gunky at school this morning. The nurse called, I went up to check it and put more drops in it. Since I was going up there, I brought the kids' treats early (Tom was going to bring them later in the day). When Jared went back to the class, his teacher said that the kids wanted their morning snack, so I asked if I could just give them their treats, she agreed. So, I went to the car to get them (ice cream cups and treat bags), when I came back, I found Jared with a birthday crown and bear. All of the kids sang to him and they all ate ice cream. It was very sweet!

Tomorrow, Jared will be having an all day picnic at the park, the last time he will be a 1st grader and in his current class! Of course, getting back to that eye of his....Jared will be going to the pediatrician first to check it out, she'll probably change his eye drops! Ah, what would life be like without a weekly visit to the pediatrician's office? ;)

Look for pics from the picnic tomorrow night!

Until then.....good night!

Field Day, 2010

Here's a slide show from Jared's 1st Field Day at his elementary school. He had to miss it last year because we were in Cincinnati!
Thanks to everyone who helped out, especially Mrs. Cooper for hosting the event! A GREAT time was had bay all! Can't wait until next year! :)

Enjoy the pics! As always, if you'd like to see them bigger and slower, just click on a picture and it will take you to the Picasa website!

Tooth Fairy Visit

Exciting News....this just in....

Jared lost his first top tooth tonight during his bath! It took a little tugging and wiggling, but it FINALLY came out! Jared was so excited...and a little freaked out at how funny it feels now and how much it bled (but it stopped rather quickly after a root beer Popsicle)!

Here's what Jared did with his tooth! Wonder what the Tooth Fairy will bring!

Farm Park....new Plane

Jared wanted me to write a post about his day. Today, he and the entire first grade class at Wickliffe Elementary School went the Lake Farm Parks. Jared said it was "GREAT!" He got to milk a cow...see a sheep pee, what can I say, he's a boy and thought it was cool. He got to pet lots of animals and he learned all about bees.

Coincidentally, we found out that the bees that are swarming around and living in my neighbor's roof, do indeed sting. Well, at least the females do. We have to ask them to try and get rid of them, it's VERY hard to play in our own backyard, as the bees keep swarming around into our yard. Today, we had to play in the front yard after Jared got home from school...I don't like that because we're so close to the street and the cars fly down our street, it's just not safe!

Anyway, back to Jared...he got a new plane today. It can go on land or water. The propellers really spin, too. He loves it and took a photo of it...here it is!

And here are some other pics of him playing with his plane and chalking outside. Notice how "sweaty" he looks in the photos...he came home from school that way, it was a warm day and he played hard today!

Hope you enjoyed the pics...there will be many more as summer comes...T-24 more days of school left! Woohoo!!!!

Busy Boy!

Jared's been SUPER busy lately! He's still ice skating, taking swim lessons and recently, we've added cooking classes (at the YMCA, of course.) He's super cute, wanting to make what he made in class for us. He's also been trying to help us more in the kitchen. He likes it and is learning how to be safe in the kitchen, so why not?!?

He, like Jaime, has had the pleasure of playing outside in the warm temps! He can't WAIT for SUMMER! (Me, either!) Today, it was a cool, rainy day, but it was also his school carnival, so we had a fun "inside" day. We went to the carnival, he won lots of prizes, we had lunch there ($3 for main food item, cookie, chips, and pop, can't beat that!) Then, we had some popcorn ($.25) and went off to Jared's ice skating lesson! Now, his teacher is VERY strict and trying to teach Jared to slow down, he's so fast! Anyway, she was trying to teach him how to go slow backwards...and, well...see for yourself, here's a video...Tom and I were dying! LOL! Poor kid just wants to zoom around that rink, spinning, going backwards, but no....his teacher won't have it! LOL!

Also, here's a slide show of Jared from things he's done over the last 2 weeks. I have some of him in his cooking class, as well as cooking at home. Tomorrow we are going to bake homemade "Shamrock pretzels," he learned how to make them in class on Friday. Can't wait! We were going to bake them today, but we went to the library, checked out Toy Story 2, and got wrapped up in that! But, BEFORE that, we noticed that Jerry's Dari Pride's opening day was today! Soooo, we opted for ice cream with "crunch coat" instead of pretzels tonight! (We ALWAYS go on opening and closing day!) Going there almost makes Spring official! :) We "heart" Jerry's Dari Pride! Enjoy the pics!

SNOW DAY!

Jared was sooooo excited (as was Tom), that he had a snow day on Friday. We got the back end of the Winter Storm that hit the Northeast Coast. It swirled around and came back to us off of Lake Erie. We were expected to get up to 10 inches of snow...at one point they even canceled the Winter storm warning...as you'll see from the pictures, we got WAY MORE than 10 inches of snow. Not to mention that as I'm typing it's still a blizzard out there! Crazy!
Anyway, I had to keep Jared occupied somehow since school and the YMCA were closed. We had Cousin Connor sleep over on Friday night. The boys had a lot of fun together. By mid afternoon and after Connor left, Jared "bored" again. I didn't really want him to play outside, mostly because of the windchill, so I told him we could bring some snow inside. He thought that was the coolest thing. The last time I did that he was about 3. Once the snow melted, he and I made edible play-dough to play with. He thought it was super fun and liked eating it, too! He wanted more, but we needed more ingredients. That prompted a quick trip to the grocery store! This is the first time I've been to Giant Eagle in literally MONTHS! Jared went to the Eagle's Nest while I shopped. I found a textured ball for Jaime when I was there, so once we were home, the boys had a fun time playing with it. It was a nice couple of days in-spite of the weather!
Hope everyone is safe and warm! Enjoy Jared's slide show and don't forget to check out "Jaime's World" to see what he's been up to!

Ice Skating!!!!

Jared and I have ice skated twice already this week. What a work out! He loves it and is doing so good. We actually ran into his Euclid teacher practicing at Mentor today...she was very impressed with how well Jared was doing! I'm so glad he found something that he really enjoys!
If you haven't seen my Face Book page, here are some photos from our ice skating adventures this week!

Boats?!?

I just HAD to post this picture of the Lego boats that Jared built tonight. He made two of them so that we could play with them in the tub. Jared was so excited that they could really float. He also brought his Lego shark into the bath (that is what he is holding between his fingers on his right hand). These were really cool and for once Jared made something that couldn't fly! ;)

Head Injury/Sleepover!

Everyday after school, Jared has a snack, then immediately plays with Jaime. (If you've seen Jaime's World or Facebook, you've seen the photos of them playing). Well, Thursday, just before dinner, Jared was being silly and ran right into the corner of the hallway wall. He got a big goose egg and an abrasion on the side of his head. This warranted a quick trip to Hillcrest ER. Thankfully, the dr. on was a friend of mine! Mike asked me if Jared received his IV Factor (Yep, that was the second thing I did after wrapping an ice pack around his head). He felt that Jared should be OK and told us the normal concussion signs to look for. Orella, the nurse, took Jared to the "snack room" filled his arms with snacks and off we went. Jared had a bit of a rough day on Friday at school...his head was hurting "so bad" that I had to go up to the school with Tylenol. (Really he wanted to come home, but I wouldn't let him...mean Mommy! :)

Jared and his ice pack! He actually thought this was hysterical because he didn't have to sit and hold ice on it...he just posed for the photo!

Anyway, since he had a crazy week, I thought it would be fun for Jared to have his very first sleepover! My nephew, Connor slept over last night! The boys had sooooo much fun! They played the Wii, Legos and even got to play out in the snow that fell over night! They were sooooo good! It was really great seeing the boys get along...it was even funnier to listen to them play Legos. Apparently, each of them made space ships and had animal farms (with a lizard, badger and dinosaur), then they attended a party at Princess Leia's ship. Too funny! They were surprising in bed and asleep by 10:15 P.M. Can't wait to do it again...I think it may just turn into a Friday night thing! :)
Connor playing Wii.

Jared's turn.

Legos...see the lizard?

Getting ready for bed.

Bedtime!

Woohoo, SNOW!

Back in the warm house to play Legos.

Finished space town.

After Connor left this afternoon, Jared started his next level of ice skating. We found out today that Jared is skating on his toes...kind of a weird thing. Looks like we found a really great teacher that cares about these kids doing things the right way...and safely, too! :)
Not great photos...they never are in the rink, but that's Jared by his new teacher.

Jared's class!
We had a quiet evening at home. Tom has a gig tonight. Once Jaime fell asleep, Jared and I played the game of Life. Guess who won? Yep, JARED! He almost ALWAYS does! He ended the game with $1,245,000, so not fair! (We both said we wished it was "real" money, HA.)
So long, until next time.....
